There are 4 levels of Education in Australia –

Primary School

Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)

Process

Step 1 – After you’ve been accepted to your preferred university, your institution will issue you a letter of enrollment confirmation, or CoE if you do so.

Step 2 – Create your account on the Australian Immigration website.

Step 3 – Apply for a Subclass 500 student visa and gather all documentation in digital format.

Step 4 – Fill out the form, including your CoE number and country codes.

Step 5 – Pay your visa application fee of 620 AUD and obtain your TRN number.

Step 6 – To acquire your TRN number, you must undergo a medical examination.

Step 7 – Wait for your visa. The application may take up to 125 days to be processed.

Post-Study Work Visa

There are two major Post-Study Work (PSW) visas –

Skilled Recognized Graduate Visa (Subclass 476)

This visa is for students who have earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an Australian university. For up to 18 months, you can live, work, and study in Australia with this visa.

Temporary Graduate Visa

This visa can be further divided into two categories –

Graduate Work Stream – For 18 months, this visa permits overseas students to live, study, and work in Australia. This visa is available to recent graduates with certain skills and certifications.

Post-Graduate Work Stream – This visa permits overseas students who have completed their masters from an Australian university to work, study, and reside in Australia. You can stay in Australia for 2 to 4 years, depending on your qualifications.

Permanent Residency

Permanent Residency is not the same as citizenship in Australia. In Australia, having a PR effectively means that you may live and work there and have access to most of the country’s rights and benefits. You are welcome to invite your family members. You can also apply for PR on behalf of your family. Work and health benefits may be available to you and your family. Additionally, you can petition for citizenship after a few years of PR status.
